Our Story
So Cal Famous Beach Ice is a Manufacturer of Gourmet Sorbet, Granita, Italian Ice and Philadelphia Water Ice, Vegan Ice Cream made with natural, fruit and fun flavors. Starting out in Los Angeles in 2008 we originally bought our product from manufacturers out of New Jersey and Philadelphia. We sold at special events, sporting events, birthdays, company parties, fund raisers, craft fairs, car shows and so much more. After moving to San Diego, which was an untapped market at the time, nobody new what Italian Ice was and we struggled finding our demographic. We started a small location at Plaza Bonita Mall in National City and expenses were so high, with the cost of shipping product, cold storage, mall rent and labor, we ended the year of 2015 very discouraged and had a hard time seeing much of a future for the company. If we didn't start making our own product and finding another venue to sell our product we were going to be in trouble. We rented a kitchen and started manufacturing product with our own recipes and selling our product at farmers markets all over San Diego County. To Date we have participated in over 25 San Diego Markets. We currently do 5 of the best markets that work for us. We have regulars who visit us religiously every week.
